CLUB ACTIVITIES

Leo Year 1998-1999

July 4, 1998. Donated food items, clothings and various goods at the Friendship Home Orphanage, Valencia, Negros Oriental.

September 6, 1998. Participated in the nation wide Alay-Lakad '98 or Walk for a cause together with the Dumaguete City(Host) Lions Club and Metro Dumaguete Lions Club.This is an annual activity of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

September 12, 1998. Assisted the Metro Dumaguete Lions Club during the PBA(Philippine Basketball Association) Game (San Miguel vs. Formula Shell) at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex. This is an annual activity sponsored by the Metro Dumaguete Lions Club.

October 9, 1998. Induction of the new set of officers for the Leo Year 1998-1999 at the OK Pensionne House. Lion President Meo Villegas of the Dumaguete City(Host) Lions Club and Lion President Ngo An Ramas-Uypitching of the Metro Dumaguete Lions Club were the inducting officers. Also present were Lionness Mariant Escaño-Villegas and Lion Saetin Uy, our club advisor.

October 24, 1998. Assisted in the Drug Awareness Seminar held at Saint Augustine of Hippo Parish, Bacong Negros Oriental.This seminar was sponsored by the Dumaguete City(Host) Lions Club and Lion President Meo Villegas, Lion Leo Cabrera and Lady Lion Erlinda Cabrera were the lecturers during this said activity.

November 7, 1998. Future Project was discussed with the Dumaguete Handicapped Association at Quezon Park Canteen.

November 21, 1998. Coastal Clean-up held at the Silliman University Beach, Dumaguete City.

December 5, 1998. Christmas Party at the OK Pensionne House.

December 17, 1998. Gifts were given to the street children of Dumaguete.

February 14,1999. Raised funds for projects by selling "baskets of love" filled with different homemade food items to the public.

February 19-20,1999. Attended the 3rd Cabinet Meeting and District Conference together with the Dumaguete City(Host) Lions Club and Metro Dumaguete Lions Club at Baseline Restaurant, Cebu City.

March 27,1999. Orientation of new recruits.

May 15,1999. Visited Casa Esperanza, home of battered women and children in the City and donated personal necessity items to them. The club also conducted games, action songs for the children, dancing; snacks were also given to everyone.

June 27,1999. Participated the Nutri Fit Walk with other organizations in the city.
